Cost Engineering Seminar:

The third in a series of meetings was held in Phoenix 31 Jan-1 Feb 06 dealing with the topic of construction cost estimates. Attendees included construction contractors (both small and large businesses), an A-E design firm, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Navy, SPD, SPA, SPK, and SPL. What clearly stood out from all these discussions was that awarding successful government contracts is just as difficult as awarding private sector contracts. The current state of economy is driving costs up for both government projects as well as the private sector.
